Gtech, the official stadium title partner of Brentford FC, has today announced it will host the inaugural Gtech Community Cup on Thursday, May 21st. The event will see grassroots women’s football arrive at the Gtech Community Stadium, as Division One Midlands side, Worcester City Women, travel to West London for a historic ‘Past vs Present’ fixture.

The Gtech-funded showcase aims to bridge the gap between the Premier League and women’s grassroots football. In a unique format, the Worcester City Women First Team will face a Legends XI, comprised of veteran players who pioneered the club’s impressive rise through the football pyramid.

By gifting the use of the stadium, Gtech will provide the players with a professional matchday experience, including access to the home and away changing rooms, the tunnel, and the stadium’s hospitality suite.

Jothie Walford, Gtech CEO, said:

“As an official partner of Brentford FC, we are delighted to bring grassroots football to one of London’s leading sports venues.
Through the Gtech Community Cup, we hope to build a platform that make elite sport accessible for women and girls of all ages and abilities, leaving a legacy for the game in Worcester, West London, and around the UK.”

Nicole Allison, Worcester City Women CEO, said:

“This is an incredible opportunity for our players to experience a truly elite environment at the Gtech Community Stadium - something that reflects exactly where we are heading as a club.

At WCWFC, we pride ourselves on creating special, memorable moments while maintaining the highest performance standards, and this is another example of that commitment. What makes this even more - special is that it mirrors our community impact too, with our vets team also taking part - showcasing the full breadth of who we are as a club.

Opportunities like this are what set us apart as the leading club in Worcestershire for ambitious players and staff, and we can’t wait to step out onto that pitch - what an experience it will be.
A huge thank you to Gtech for making this possible.”
